It also takes a deep dive into the design, deployment, and management required for a sustainable service configuration management practice.  The topics covered in this course include:  Guidance on service data modeling Data governance policies and considerations  Key integrations with practices such as monitoring and event management, service financial management, change enablement, incident management, and service level management  Roles related to configuration management updates and maintenance  CMDB design considerations such as federated databases and data reconciliation with monitoring tools  Learning Outcomes At the end of this course, attendees will understand the following:  Understand ITSM best practices related to service configuration management  Define and apply data governance and management principles to your configuration management system  Define the differences, relationship, and dependencies between service configuration management and IT asset management  Define and model IT services within a configuration management database  Understand and apply CMDB data modelling and design techniques  Understand how to design the service configuration management practice to support and integrate with other key IT management practices such as:  IT asset management  Service financial management  Service level management  Monitoring and event management  Incident and problem management  Adopt and adapt principles, as well as how to approach service configuration management automation and data source federation  Identify critical configuration management governance and management roles such as service owners, domain owners, and configuration management managers.   Who should attend Configuration managers, product and service owners, asset management owners, information and security management roles, business analysts, IT process designers, data architects, IT consultants, IT project managers. Prerequisites There are no pre-requisites for this course, however understanding of IT Service Management is recommended. Exam & Certification The Configuration Management Specialist exam is completed through Professional Designations Corp. This is a 1 hour, closed book exam which consists of 40 multiple- choice questions - a passing score of 65% is required. The exam is completed online using a webcam and internet connection.  Course Material & Inclusions Material for this course will only be provided as downloadable soft-copy files that can be viewed on a variety of devices. Attendees may print a hard copy of the files in whatever format best meets their needs. A digital badge you can share with your network of your course achievement will be provided via email upon passing your certification exam.  SFIA Skills & Industry Accreditation After completion of this course, you may apply for self-directed learning PDUs through PMI.
